Cleaning them is quite simple and can be done by any do-it-yourself home owner. Simply follow a step-by-step process to get your window AC units clean. Begin by cleaning or changing the filter. Pop open the tabs on the front of the AC unit and slide the flat filter out. If the filter is replaceable, simply slide a new filter in its place. If it is a reusable filter, use the hose to spray the dust and dirt off of the filter and then place it back in the unit. Close the tabs. Shake the foaming condenser cleaner thoroughly and then spray the back of the window AC unit, covering the fins of the condenser unit completely. Allow this to sit for 15 minutes.
