Can heart failure be cured?
Yes and no. When heart failure is due to a treatable underlying cause, heart failure can be cured when the underlying condition is successfully treated. On the other hand, when heart failure is due to weakness of the heart muscle, treatment will often relieve symptoms, and will often improve the underlying condition, but will not cure the problem long-term. In this situation, heart failure therapy will usually be required life-long.
