What does the name Jig-A-Loo mean?
Like a lot of revolutionary products, Jig-A-Loo started with one person with a great idea. Fifty years ago, an enterprising Quebecer who had long been working on finding just the right formula for an all-around lubricant had his “ah-hah!” moment. In his excitement, he yelled out a familiar French Canadian expression: “Ti-gi-do!” which means “I’ve got it!” The question was, what to call it. Everyone involved wanted to celebrate the special moment so they came up with a phonetic version of the now-famous phrase. “Jig” is a variation on the first part of the expression that happens to include the notion of what we do when something sticks – we try to jiggle it. And “Loo” is a reference to the product’s principal purpose as a lubricant. In Canada, the name is well known and the product is recognized for its consistent results and uncommon versatility.
