What is drunkenness?
Drunkenness is characterized by a temporary loss of control over physical or mental powers caused by excessive alcohol intake. Symptoms may include impaired vision, distorted depth perception, slurred speech, and poor coordination. In Texas, a person is considered legally drunk when he or she has a .08 blood alcohol level or is not in control of their mental or physical facilities due to alcohol or drugs.
