The most predominant cause for ecthyma is the bacterium streptococci; the infection normally originates at the point of an injury like an insect bite or a scratch. This is commonly found on legs. This starts as a blister with pus and spreads deeper. You will notice an ulcer with a border and covered by crust. What are the Symptoms for Ecthyma? Ecthyma normally starts as a small blister on inflamed skin inflammation. A thick, hard crust is formed over this and it is quite difficult to remove this crust. If you remove this crust, you will see a red, swollen ulcer with pus oozing. The size of this wound may or may not change; if it changes, it might get enlarged to 3 cm in diameter.
