What will WASC require Hartnell to do?
WASC is requiring that Hartnell submit two progress reports to show that it is quickly resolving these issues. The first was due on October 15, 2007, by which time the college had to show that its governing board had completed its ethics policy by developing procedures for sanctioning those who commit ethical violations, and that the college had made significant progress on the other recommendations. The college submitted its October progress report a week early, making not only the required showings, but also showing that all board members, managers, confidential staff, and many others also completed ethics certification required for some government officials but not for community colleges. The second report is due on March 15, 2008, when the college must provide evidence of our resolution of the remaining recommendations.
