What are INDEPENDENT FILMS?
Filmmaking also takes place outside of the mainstream and is commonly called independent filmmaking. With today’s technology filmmakers can shoot and edit a film, create and edit the sound and music, and mix the final cut on a home computer. However, while the means of production may be accessible, other aspects such as financing, distribution, and marketing remain difficult to accomplish outside the traditional system. It is the latter, that often times marks the difference between a high-end quality product with great profit potential or a dime-a-dozen well edited home-made video.
