A jab is a quick punch from your resting position straight out and snapped back in to your body quickly. If this punch is done right, it will hit the opponent straight on, hard and quick. Practice this punch in front of the mirror until you have it right. Talk with your trainer about your jab positioning and execution. Work on your balance. Though boxing does not appear to be graceful, it is in fact dependent very much on being able to move swiftly and gracefully out of the way of the opponent’s hits. Balance should be practiced both in the ring and on balance beams or in the way of dance, ice skating or other classes incorporating the art of balance. A great exercis
