What is a “digital angel”?
Some time ago on our telecast, we talked about an American company that had developed a miniature digital transceiver that can send and receive data and can be continuously tracked by global positioning satellite technology. The company envisioned its “digital angel” as a means of tamper-proof identification for Internet business transactions or a rescue beacon for kidnapped children or missing persons. Other applications might be electronically monitoring the vital signs of “at risk” medical patients or keeping track of criminals under house arrest. While the developer of this technology envisioned it being used for good and helpful purposes, prophecy scholars immediately recognized that the “digital angels” capabilities could easily be adapted and utilized as a form of the biblical “mark of the beast” described in Revelation 13:16,17. This tiny microchip could easily be implanted in a persons hand or forehead for identification, authorizing him to “buy or sell.” One reason the negati
