What does the LDS church believe?
We believe in a living God who loves his children, and answers their righteous prayers. We believe that he sends prophets to the earth to teach us and guide us, and that there is no end to his works. We believe in an open canon of scripture – that the Bible is not the end of all truth. We are above all else followers of Christ, and strive to be obedient to the commandments which he taught. We believe in the Book of Mormon, that it was also written by ancient prophets, and inspired of God. We believe in the authority and priesthood of the apostles which Jesus called to administer the ordinances of the church. Initially, when apostles died they were replaced. This only lasted a short time. The authority to administer the ordinances was lost with the death of the apostles. It was restored to the earth through angelic visitation.
