Want Empowerment? You Get What You Request and Reward Sunday May 18, 2008 I’m putting together the outline today of a presentation I will give in mid-June for the Capital Quality Initiative. The topic is forward thinking Human Resources and I decided mid-way through writing the summary that I was approaching the topic in the wrong way. I started by listing the Human Resources systems that I believe are necessary for forward thinking Human Resources such as performance management as opposed to performance appraisal. As I listed systems it struck me that this was opposite to the approach I should be using. For those of you who have to give talks occasionally, perhaps these thoughts will help.
