How Does A Digital TV Work?
Digital television is a telecommunication system that uses digital signals for broadcasting and receiving sound and moving pictures, in contrast to the conventional analog signals in the traditional TV. It uses digital modulation data, requiring a specially designed television set or a receiver with a set-top box, to decode the signal. Digital television uses a much smaller channel bandwidth, freeing space for much more digital channels, it also allows for other services like pay-multimedia services. There are also special services like multicasting, interactivity and electronic program guides. Digital television generally has a better reception, audio quality and superior image as compared to analog. The technology is however still in its infancy, with many advances yet to be made.
