A glucometer allows quick access to your blood sugar level. Diabetics are required to monitor their blood sugar level several times a day and record the results; these results are needed by your doctor to determine if your treatment needs to be modified. Properly using a glucometer can help you maintain a healthy blood sugar level. Take out the glucometer and place on a flat surface. You may find it helpful to keep all your blood testing supplies in one place, like an overhead cabinet. Remove a test strip from the container and place in the glucometer.
