How many patents have ratings (IPQ® scores)?
The PatentRatings® system rates all U.S. utility patents in all fields of technology. IPQ scores exist on 99.9% (Based on 2009 internal audit) of all U.S. utility patents issued since January 1, 1976. Also available is historical IPQ-6 score data, which is the IPQ score for that patent as of 6 months prior to the last update. In limited cases, errors or gaps in obtaining data from sources, (i.e. USPTO) prevent the calculation of IPQ scores, which accounts for a tiny percent of unrated patents.
