The previous narrative writing tasks gave students an opportunity to be creative and use their imaginations. Will future NAPLAN tests gauge children’s creativity?
The purpose of the NAPLAN tests is to assess each student’s literacy and numeracy skills. The narrative marking rubric does not specifically assess creativity. Teachers give students the opportunity to demonstrate their creative abilities in both classroom assessments and other activities. NAPLAN may assess narrative writing again in the future.
