What drug testing methods are available?
There are several testing methods available that use urine, hair, oral fluids, and sweat (patch). A hair drug test will give the longest history of use. A 1 and 1/2 inch length of hair will go back 90 days. A urine drug screening test will go back many days depending on how much was used. And a oral test gives the shortest history of up to 72 hours, again depending on the amount used. These methods vary in cost, reliability, drugs detected, and detection period. Schools can determine their needs and choose the method that best suits their requirements, as long as the testing kits are from a reliable source.
