What is the workload like?
The workload for the courses in the Health Services Administration program is similar to the workload for other university-level courses – about 6-8 hours per week per course. Having said that, some courses are more demanding than others, and the time spent on course work will depend on the course you are taking as well as the skill set you are bringing to that course.
The workload varies depending on the course you are taking (as well as the skills you are bringing to that course). On average, you can count on a commitment of about six hours per week per course (three hours in the online classroom, three hours offine for reading and assignments). You will have two years to complete your certificate. A passing grade for each course is 65%.
Although most students will tell you studying at BCIT is a lot of work, they will also tell you it’s worth it. You are in class from 25 to 35 hours per week. Homework is assigned in addition to the scheduled class hours. Students in trades usually start between 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and end between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., whereas the classes for most other full-time students are scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
