Is screw cooling necessary?
Screw cooling is required. Tips: • Do not bore past the feed zone. • Water or oil cooling is acceptable. • If your screw is bored to the tip, plug with an aluminum or brass rod. • Water-Tap water temperature is acceptable. Oil-Do not exceed 54°C (130°F) cooling oil temperature. • Do not run screw cooling when not in use. Condensation can occur, which can eventually damage the screw finish.
