Can Corrupt Leaders Provide Truth?
Question: How can a corrupt institution such as the Catholic Church provide infallible truth? The flawed assumption in this question is that God can’t or won’t use corrupt people as messengers of His truth. But aren’t we all sinners, even after receiving salvation? The following argument demonstrates an unintended side-effect of using this flawed assumption: God can’t use sinful people [the corrupt leaders of the Catholic Church] to proclaim truth. This is the flawed assumption. But we know that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23) Even after receiving salvation by faith, everyone is still a sinner.
