What are the advantages of DARS?
DARS provides an easy-to-read tool for you to examine progress toward your major, and transfer goals following IGETC or CSU. You can use DARS reports and do some “major shopping” by looking at what degrees you may be closest to finishing or find a double major. It is an excellent tool for planning which courses you need to register for to complete your goals. Do I still need to see an Academic Counselor? Yes! The academic counselor will use the DARS report in the process of advising you about your program of study and transfer plans. A Counselor can answer your questions and you may have and advise you about your course substitutions and waivers that may be needed.
