To allow Xfire into the Windows firewall built into WinXP: • Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel. • Double click Windows Firewall. • Click the Exceptions Tab. • Click Add Program. • Find Xfire in the list, highlight it and click OK. You may need to also add xfire_exception.exe to the list as well. You can also add the Xfire connection port on the Exceptions tab: • Click Add Port. • In the Name field enter: cs.xfire.com • In the Port field enter: 25999 • Make sure the TCP radio button is checked. You may have to re-add Xfire to your exceptions list each time we update.
