What is aesthetic education?
Aesthetic education is integral to the development of persons-to their cognitive, perceptual, emotional and imaginative development. We see it a part of the human effort (so often forgotten today) to seek a greater coherence in the world. Few of us are in a position to communicate what this is like to others if we who are teachers have not reflected upon our own experiences with music, dance, theater and the rest. Aesthetic educationis an intentional undertaking designed to nurture appreciative, reflective, cultural, participatory engagements with the arts by enabling learners to notice what there is to be noticed This is the starting point: the ability to feel from the inside what the arts are like and how they mean.
