What is a Certified Arborist?
An arborist is a tree care professional educated in arboriculture. After several years of on the job training experience and course work study, an arborist may sit for a certification test administered by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Upon successfully scoring well on the test, he or she becomes a certified arborist. Continuing education is necessary to maintain certification similar to other professions such as accounting, law or medicine.
