Is the HMA PD uses UV resistance coated?
The HMA we use is UV resistant and coated to help prevent wear, although testing indicates that UV damage is not a line life issue. The line will likely need to be replaced due to wear long before UV damage has a chance to affect its strength. Specially colored coatings are not necessary for good lifetime performance of HMA. What can I do to promote the longest possible life span of my HMA line set? As with any line type, keep it clean, dry, and out of the sun. Do not drag your canopy along the ground while picking up the lines after landing. “Walk” the lines back to your canopy instead. Inspect your lines and the entire canopy frequently. Pay particular attention to the condition of the inside surface of the slider grommets to be sure there are no rough edges or nicks that can damage your lines.
