Why called Gethsemane?

It was God’s desire to call the first little retreat in Kuala Lumpur “Gethsemane” so that His workers will go through a Gethsemane experience with Him in their desires and struggles to do His will, and not theirs….for the message of Gethesemane for any child of God, is, essentially: • To be honest with God our Father when we find our Christian life intolerable as Jesus did, because of others’ ridicule, rejection, misunderstanding and slander…so much so that we want to tell God…”Please, Father, no more…no more pains, I can’t stand it any more…” and then to hear the Father’s voice of affirmation and understanding again…. • To so experience the love of God like Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane, that one will feel secure enough to pray…. • “Nevertheless, Father, not my will but Yours be done”…. • Then to get up like Jesus did, to trust and obey the Father out of gratitude, not out of duty any more… Archived Information Since June 1995 – Gethsemane Retreat Centre-KL h
