What is slip stitch crochet?
Slip Stitch Crochet is a way of making fabric using only crochet slip stitches. Slip stitching can produce fabric that is thin and stretchy with excellent drape using less yarn than traditional crochet for solid fabric. One type of Slip Stitch Crochet is Bosnian crochet. Bosnian crochet is a form of slip stitching that has been practiced for centuries in some European countries. In Bosnian crochet, pieces are always worked in the round without turning. Thus, it is traditionally limited to round or tubular objects like hats, gloves, bowls and flat items worked in the round without turning. The fabric is generally dense and on the firm side. Although not the traditional practice, Bosnian can technically be used to make flat items not worked in the round and without turning while achieving the same textures.
