How can Charles County save money?
Last week county budgets across Maryland were put on the chopping block, and when the slicing and dicing had ended, Charles County was left with a $5.5 million chunk of local aid missing from its ledgers. The county commissioners and financial staffers warn there is very little fat left to trim, which means lasting damage is likely for the next few fiscal years.
