It is my belief that we have to eliminate racism in this world, or a lot of people will die. It is also my belief that racism is built into us, and that makes it hugely difficult to counteract. Racism is a left-over survival skill Way back when, when humans lived in small tribes, they treated people who were not in the tribe as if they were an animal. They probably didn’t speak the same language, or look the same, or smell right. So, they were likely to be dangerous, and just want to kill you. The reasonably response to someone who wants to kill you is to kill them before they kill you. Tribes were always warring and fighting and raiding “the other.” “The other” was not the same. So they were lesser, dangerous, and perhaps not even considered human. We’ve seen the kinds of problems these behaviors have given rise to over the millenia.
