To read ruler measurements put the zero end of the ruler at the edge of whatever you are measuring. Then look at the point on the ruler where what you are measuring ends. That is your measurement. Rulers are most often broken down in inches, 1/2″, 1/4″ and 1/8″. Centimeter rulers are broken down into centimeters and millimeters.
