What kills the influenza virus?
The answer to this question depends on whether the virus is outside or inside the body. If it is outside and on your hands, plain soap and water or an alcohol-based sanitizer will suffice. On other surfaces, washing with a detergent and water is effective. If the virus is inside your body, then an antiviral agent may do the trick, assuming the virus has not become resistant to the medication, so judicious use of antivirals is important.
