Who edits the paper?
A group of student editors and the faculty advisor comprise an “editorial board.” The student board members are charged with editing every article, blurb, caption, announcement, and photo placed in the Juniatian. The students serve as editor-in-chief, news editor, arts and entertainment editor, sports editor, layout editor, and photography editor. When numbers allow, assistant editors are included in each section. The editors receive final copies of each article from the staff writers. The editors then edit the material for content, organizational, mechanical, and grammatical issues. They then submit the edited copies to the layout editor for layout design. Once the layout has been created, the editor-in-chief and faculty advisor read the entire newspaper, looking for serious errors and/or omissions before the editor-in-chief and layout editor submit the final layout for printing.
