How Do You Make Smores Indoors?
With record-setting drought in parts of the U.S., making Smores or S’mores outdoors isn’t always practical or advisable. Microwaving is good but lacks a little crackle. By using a toaster oven, you’ll get closer to the proper flavor and consistency. First, avoid sampling. You’ll need 4 segments of graham crackers, two squares of chocolate and two large marshmallows for each smore. (I used Marshmallows made of fish instead of beef/horse gelatin). Assemble as shown. Put Marshmallows and Graham Crackers in Toaster Oven Set toaster to medium. You want a little browning to occur to simulate the campfire effect. Using an Oven Mit, Remove from Toast Oven – While the marshmallows are still hot, place a square of chocolate on top of the marshmallows. Place Graham Cracker on Top – Caution, it will be hot! Squish down so marshmallow oozes out the side. This is messy so be ready. Chocolate will melt and run over the sides and onto you hands. Lick as needed.
