What are Mr. Lady and New Half?
Mr. Ladies and New Halves are the people who are biologically male but behave somewhere in between male and female. These words were invented sometime in late 80s when gay rights were gradually perceived in Japanese urban society. Some people differentiate these words based on if they still have the “thing.” (You know what I am talking about. Do not askc.) But Japanese vocabulary has not evolved to differentiate gay, transsexual and drag queen yet. It’s totally okay at the street level, even if you mess up these words.
