Who can delete a MIRIAM URI or data type?
MIRIAM URIs entered in the MIRIAM Database are not subject to complete removal, but may become deprecated when a new URI is created for a data type. This preserves legacy annotations that utilised the deprecated URI, without the need to specifically revisit those annotations and recode them. Deprecated URIs therefore can still be used to access the same information, but any new annotations created should use the latest URIs stored in MIRIAM Resources. Any existing deprecated URIs are clearly listed in the main entry page for each data type, Data types entered in the MIRIAM Database also cannot be deleted completely, but can be deprecated should they no longer conform to the terms and conditions required for their inclusion in the MIRIAM system.
