How Do You Make Mini Straw Bales?
Give that special occasion a country touch by decorating with mini straw bales. Adorable additions to table centerpieces, round mini straw bales can be affordably and easily made on your own using hay or straw and wire. Hay or straw can be purchased at most farm and feed stores. These bales are fast to make, and a large quantity can be produced in a short amount of time. These instructions make 6-inch long bales, but can easily be adjusted for making smaller or larger sizes. Cut a piece of paper 6 inches wide and 11 inches long. This will be used for forming the bales. Grab a clump of straw in your hand so you have a bunch that is about 3 inches thick. Place the clump on the paper at one of of the short ends. Arrange the straw so the stalks are more or less going in the same direction. Roll the clump tightly in the paper. This is like rolling up a sleeping bag. Use scissors to trim off any straw ends that are sticking out beyond the edges of the paper to create flat, even bale ends. Un
