How Do You Reduce A Fimo Cane?
Making a cane using Fimo clay is done by layering slabs, sticks and rolls. When sliced, the layered design is visible on the end of the cane, making it possible to create many identical slices of beads and tiles. When your layered cane is complete, you are left with a short, fat cane. Reduce a Fimo cane, with this simple technique, in order for the diameter to be much smaller and the cane to be much longer, without distorting or blending your inside layers together. Place the thumb and index finger, of one hand, around the center of the cane. Squeeze the cane firmly. Add more fingers and squeeze again. Rotate the Fimo cane halfway and continue to squeeze. Work out from the middle of the cane, evenly, to the ends of the cane. Place the partially reduced cane on your work surface when your cane is almost the desired diameter.
