Niche ETFs introduced by PowerShares October 24, 2006 SAN DIEGO (ETFguide.com) – Does a week go by when PowerShares doesn’t have a new ETF offering? Lately, that’s how it seems things have gone. This year the company has been one of the most active issuers of new exchange-traded funds and its torrid pace continues. Today, the fledgling company introduced another 3 funds on the American Stock Exchange. Within the past month, PowerShares has launched 21 ETFs including one currency linked fund. Just last week the company made the blockbuster announcement that it would be taking over the sponsorship of 6 Nasdaq sponsored ETFs, including the venerable Nasdaq-100 ETF (NASDAQ: QQQQ). “Providing investors with direct, diversified and liquid access to the world of private equity is consistent with PowerShares’ goals as an asset manager,” said Bruce Bond President of the company.
