What does K.C. stand for?
In K.C. Munchkin’s name, the initials apparently don’t stand for anything. However, the munchkin was named after Kenneth C. Meinken Jr., who was president of Magnavox at the time. (Unfortunately it’s not known what the “C” in his name stands for.) Ed Averett has stated that the character was named this way to encourage upper management to support the program — a decision that proved unfortunate since the game incurred so many legal troubles.32 (Note: in the interview where Averett first revealed this information, K.C.’s namesake is misspelled “Mencken.” The “Mencken” spelling has since propagated throughout the Internet, but it’s incorrect.
