Why Wear Dance Leotards?
If you are looking to buy a leotard for a dance class, for fashion or for a dance show, there are a few things you have to know. Depending on the class you attend, you may have specific types of outfits that are more appropriate. In ballet, it is a good rule of thumb to always wear black leotards and tights – at least until you know the policy of you dance school. Luckily, most tutors and schools will provide a uniform list well in advance of your first lesson. Jazz classes may be less set in terms of uniform, however always be sure to wear appropriate and specially designed dance wear. A strenuous class may require leotards and tights with shorts over them. The reason for this is that the clothing will keep your muscles warm but allow the teacher to see your best lines without the barrier of bulky workout pants or baggy T-shirts.
