How Do You Fertilize Purple Plum Trees?
The purple leaf plum, more commonly called simply purple plum, gets its name not from the color of the plums but from the color of the foliage on the tree. The leaves are a dark purple color and will grow to be between 1/2 inch to 3 inches in length. In contrast to the dark purple color, the tree produces white and pink flower blossoms in the spring, which turn into edible fruit. Fertilize the purple plum tree in early spring, around March, when you start to see signs of new growth, such as small flower buds or foliage.
