For a visit of less than six months a Brazilian doesn’t need to get a visa before travelling and can instead apply for entry on reaching the border. A good number are refused entry, mostly because they don’t satisfy the Immigration Officer they’re genuine visitors. Holding adequate funds and a return ticket are part of the picture but most are refused because they’ve spent several months of salary, often on unaffordable credit, to come to the UK for only a few days and can give no idea of what it is they want to do and see here. Essentially because it’s obvious that they aren’t tourists at all and, actually, want to live and work here. Most folk won’t spend 3 years paying for a 3 day holiday with no particular purpose but they might take the hit if they’re going to make that amount and more working in the UK.
