What group activities will give the children an opportunity to be heard at a nursery?

-Show and Tell-children take turns coming up to show an item from home and tell some exciting news….all children are told to listen and can ask questions at the end. -Heuristic play box-a box with lid-children puts hand in and has to describe item…everyone listens and has to guess what it is…if child things they are right they pull it out and we look to see whaty it actually is! -Rules: such as “we listen to each other”, “we are friendly at nursery”, “we use quiet voices indoors” makes sure that children are being shown the important of listening to others and the environment is promoting a listening ethos. -Quiet area: there should be atleast one quiet area in every room where children can go to do quiet things like stories, rest, talk to adults etc. -Small group activities as well as large group-sometimes activities are easier in small groups because there’s not so much competition…its great for chidlren who are slightly quieter too as they may not feel so intimidated!
