How Do You Learn First Aid & CPR?
First aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training can save lives. There are many ways to obtain training, most free of charge. Some of the topics covered by training courses are emergency scene care and management, patient stabilization, resuscitation techniques and how to treat multiple health conditions, such as choking, heat exhaustion, hypothermia, blood loss and broken bones. The training you receive from one of these courses may one day save the lives of your loved ones. Take a course offered by the American Red Cross. Its website allows you to search for chapters near you that offer first aid and CPR training. Depending on the chapter, these courses may be taught either at a training facility or on-site by an approved American Red Cross volunteer. Ask the staff at your local public library for a list of local first aid and CPR training courses. Many municipalities offer free first aid training as a public service.
