How Do You Draw Oval Shaped Eyes?
Oval shaped and box shaped eyes are two of the most common types of eyes drawn in anime. Oval eyes are very easy to draw and most closely mimic the shape of a real eye. Both shapes consist of a very simplistic oval shape, round cornea, and the use of small curving lines to form the eyelashes. Once an artist becomes accustomed to drawing half-ovals, the oval shaped eye is easy to draw. Draw a curved upper eyelid, curled at the right end. Draw a second curving line to form the lower eyelid. Curl this eyelid at the right end. Add curling lines at the right edges of the eyelids and draw a circle or oval to form a cornea. Choose three base colors when using traditional drawing tools. For those using a graphics program, select one base color and fill accordingly. Color in the cornea. Use the next highest color and fill in most of the cornea, excluding the lowest part.
