Why a Hindi film now?
The story demanded that it be told in Hindi. Phir Milenge is rooted in the land. What prompted you to make a film on the issue of HIV? I am from an Army background. I have travelled all over the country and have been exposed to many problems and social realities. Over the years, even when I was busy with acting, I have been involved with many social organisations in Chennai. Some years ago I participated in an AIDS awareness campaign. I am aware of the problem in India which has the second highest number of HIV-infected people in the world. And your story was a result of this social consciousness?
