Charging is done on the basis of the quantity of transmitted data via GPRS, irrespective of the time the user spends online i.e. in blocks of data transmitted, e.g. 10KB, 30KB, 60KB, etc. The chargeable block varies from operator to operator and the cost of uplink (data uploaded) and downlink (data downloaded) can also be different for the same operator.
