Researchers are trying to determine a means of control without damaging local ecological systems. However, you can take steps to prevent damage to your boat and further infestation. Scrub your boat and equipment with a heavy-duty sponge or a stiff scrub brush to remove any aquatic life or adult mussels that may have adhered to the hull.
