The Chief of Staff of the Air Force announced his recommended2009 Reading List Dec. 8. He said:”Today’s Air Force is the product of the pioneers who preceded us, and our Airmen are proudly carrying the torch. In our professional development, we must remain mindful of the lessons of the past, while we continue to prevail everywhere our enemies choose to engage. Continued education is a crucial part of being a professional warrior reinforcing our Core Values of integrity, service, and excellence,” said Gen. Norton Schwartz, the service’s 19th chief of staff. “The books we have selected for our 2009 Reading List capture a rich history, both intense and compelling, that offer a perspective to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow.” The 2009 CSAF Reading List is divided into three areas: Military History; Mission, Doctrine and Profession; and Our Nation and World.
