Do farad capacitor work?
Sure they work. Caps are used all the time in nearly all electronic devices. The problem with car audio “stiffening” caps is that they are used for the wrong reasons. People buy them thinking they are going to do something that they won’t A cap will NOT help with headlight dimming in nearly all cases. It will also not give you any more power or anything like that. It will only help to smooth out the voltage going to your amp. This can be beneficial if your voltage jumps around a great deal. However, a cap is not going to be needed or very helpful in most applications. So I would not recommend getting a cap simply for the fact that it is not worth the money. The benefit of having a cap is not going to outweigh the money spent on the cap for most people. You could always spend that money on something more beneficial for your system. If you are having headlight dimming issues or other power issues then you should do the “big 3” upgrade or possibly even upgrade to a high output alternator
