What is a Local Review Board (LRB)?

0

Most colleges, some departments or large research units have established Local Review Boards (check with your Dean or Department Chair). DePaul University policy requires that all research involving human participants must be reviewed by the LRB first. The LRB serves as a source of topic matter (domain) expertise for the evaluation of the quality and value of the proposed research. After review, the LRB passes the protocol onto the IRB with a recommendation about the type of IRB review required (Exempt, Expedited, Full) and a justification for that recommendation. For LRB contacts see the Contact page.
